European Commission “Healthy Women Help Everyone to Rise” Melinda French Gates (Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation) and Nadia Calvino (President, the European Investment Bank) spoke at a breakfast organized at the Washington, DC Headquarters for the European Commission. Topic on innovative solutions to some of the largest human development challenges of our time. Event was to launch the Human Development Accelerator (HDX) program to finance research and manufacturing of essential health care and nutrition products in low-income and middle-income countries. Special emphasis is being placed on Women’s health. $1 invested in healthcare of a woman equals $8 in economic growth.
